Stressed to Settled in Six Easy Steps:

1. Stressed: Don’t worry, we can help!!

We’ll do a FREE consultation to determine what services you’ll need and give you an idea of the cost.   

  • What is your timeline?
  • Where are you moving?
  • What are your plans for your current home?  Are you eligible for FREE services?
  • Do you need to de-clutter before you move? (Most people do!)
  • Who is the best mover for you based on your needs?  (distance vs.local)
  • Do you have technology and electronics we’ll need to hook up? 
  • What packing materials do you need? (We use bins for local moves and boxes for distance and storage.)
  • Will you need a space plan for your new home?
  • Do you have a budget in mind and are there tasks you prefer to do on your own?
  • We’ll identify any other resources you may need.
2. Space Plan: We visit your new home and help determine what furniture and items will realistically fit taking into account any physical limitations like wheelchairs or children. 
 
  • We visit your new home or community and photograph and measure the space. 
  • We look for plugs, doors, light switches, etc.
  • We measure cabinets and closets.
  • We measure your current furniture and create a “to scale” floor plan for you to see how things will actually fit. 
3. Sort: We work with you to sort through your belongings and determine a game plan of what to do with what you won’t be taking.
 
  • We coordinate the sale, donation and shipping of unwanted items.
  • We’ll coordinate the logistics to clear your home of what is left behind.
4: Move Logistics: We’ll coordinate all the move logistics including scheduling the mover, gathering estimates, coordinating any elevators or third parties.
 
  • We organize estimates from the movers and determine if you’ll need additional insurance
  • We coordinate the dates and any elevators or other parties like security guards
  • We communicate with the Realtors or senior communities to determine move dates and availability.
  • We arrange for any packing materials or storage spaces. 
5. Pack:  Our team will pack your entire home mindful of areas we need to recreate, high value or irreplaceable items.
 
  • We deliver appropriate packing materials
  • We arrange to ship items you to loved ones
  • We’ll provide you with a packing list for an overnight bag.
  • We’ll pack the majority of your home the day before the move leaving out items you’ll need overnight.
  • We’ll photograph any spaces you want recreated.
6. Settled:  The day the movers arrive, we’ll make your bed and unpack any necessary items you’ll need to sleep safely in your new home. You’ll most likely be able to spend the night in your new home.  Then, we’ll come  the next day to finish unpacking, organizing and decorating to your specifications.
 
  • We’ll meet the movers to pack any last minute items, your wardrobes and perishables.
  • We’ll oversee the placement of your furniture.
  • We’ll make your bed with clean sheets
  • On day one, we’ll unpack and organize your kitchen, pantries, closets, and bathrooms.
  • On day two, we’ll recreate favorite spaces, hang pictures, decorate and make any changes you’d like us to make.
